Eelgrass and sea trout project
The eelgrass and sea trout project is a project funded by Interreg Europe.
In collaboration with the ZOsteRa RestOration group (ZORRO) at University of Gothenburg, this project aims to understand the importance of shallow coastal areas for sea trout smolt. By combining various telemetry techniques with capturing methods such as beach seine nets and fyke nets, we hope to determine how shallow coastal areas i.e. eelgrass meadows and unvegetated sites affect prey choice, growth, survival and habitat use of sea trout. The results can provide information about the need to co-manage sea trout and eelgrass meadows in the sea.
